Responsibilities

The General Sessions Clerk’s office is responsible for maintaining and accurately keeping all records of the General Sessions Court. The Clerk’s Office files all detainer warrants, orders of protection, evictions, and small claims lawsuits under $25,000.

The Clerk’s Office also processes all state warrants, criminal summons, and traffic citations. We have the responsibility of collecting, receipting, and accounting for all fines, court costs, and restitutions.

This office is a fee office and collects approximately $4,500,000 a year, which is disbursed to civil judgments and various state and county agencies each month.
